First of all I saved for over a year for this boat. It was between this boat and an other one. It was a toss up. I watched all the videos on both boats and they were both pretty well matched except the other one was slightly better. But according to every video I had seen they were both yellow, My favourite colour is yellow. The other boat was a little more money so I chose the Volantix Vector SR80 Pro. I ordered it from monkey hobby. I chose to pay the extra money to ship with China post because I knew with DHL I would have to pay duties and taxes and China Post I wouldn't. Keep in mind the boat is already $380. Canadian. Shipping was $125. Canadian and I bought a charger to. So I order the boat, pay the extra money for shipping for China Post and wait and wait. They didn't ship my boat for a week. I was all excited waiting for my new boat and it was still sitting on the shelf for another week. After 2 weeks when my boat was supposed to be in my hands I checked the tracking info on the web site. And found out that not only had they gone with the cheaper shipping company, after I had paid for the more expensive one, and kept the money, they also didn't ship until a week later. The next day I got a call from DHL wanting an extra $35. For duties and taxes. When the boat finally showed up a week after that, I opened the box and my new yellow boat is orange. It is a nice colour of orange but a really shitty paint job. You can see around the opening where it used to be yellow but it isn't any more. Although it is a nice orange the paint job is horrible there are see through spots and the clear coat is painted over the decals so even if I wanted to repaint it I can't. There are also little spots of glue under the clear coat all over the boat and spots with no clear on them. And the outer finish was rough like raw wood. It took 3 times buffing it to get a fairly smooth finish out of it. Also my fully assembled boat came with all the hardware removed and the box shortened 5 inches so now that I reassembled the boat I can no longer use the box for storage because it won't fit any more. I'm assuming they saved even more money on shipping by sending a 31 inch box over a 36 inch box. More money they ripped me off for. So between the week extra in transit, the boat comming disassembled, the box ruined, the extra I paid for shipping that never happened, the boat being the wrong colour(it never states anywhere what the colour of the boat is in the ad, nor what type of battery connector it has( xt60 by the way)), the crappy paint job and the extra money I had to pay in duties and taxes because they used the cheaper shipper, I figure they owe me a hundred bucks back. Good luck ever seeing that. All in all once it is all put back together and polished up it is a nice boat. If I had known then what I know now, I would have saved money on the more expensive boat and had a lot less hassle. It is a nice boat and the colour is growing on me. Would I buy it again if I didn't have a boat? Maybe, but knowing what I know now I would not buy it from Monkey Hobby.
